What vide0 does today, what happens to your footage, and how early access works.
The product
- What does vide0 do?
- vide0 edits your video for you. You bring the footage and say what you want. It cuts the pauses and filler, finds the moments, adds captions, titles and music, and gives you a finished cut on a real timeline.
- How is this different from an editor with AI features?
- Most editors add AI buttons to a tool built for doing the work by hand. vide0 is built the other way round: the editing is done for you by default, and the tools for doing it yourself are there when you want them. The assistant, the transcript and the timeline all make the same kind of edit, so they never disagree.
- Can I change what it did?
- Yes. Everything lands as ordinary edits on a multitrack timeline. Move a clip, fix a caption, or delete a word from the transcript. One undo takes back a whole request.
- What can it do today?
- Today it removes pauses, ums and retakes; edits video from its transcript; captions in English, Hindi, Telugu and more; adds titles, motion graphics and b-roll; cleans voices, writes music to fit, and gives your footage a look; and exports wide, square or vertical. vide0 is in active development, and new automatic edits arrive often. Founding members help decide what comes next.
Footage and privacy
- What footage can I use?
- Anything you can drop in: clips from phones, action cameras, mirrorless bodies and screen recordings. Heavy formats like ProRes and 10-bit HEVC are edited through lightweight proxies and exported from your original files.
- Does my footage leave my computer?
- Your films are stored and edited on your computer, and transcription runs there too. When you ask the assistant for something, it sends your instructions and, when it needs to check its work, a few stills from your cut. Cloud transcription is off unless you turn it on.
Getting started
- Which computers does vide0 work on?
- The private beta is for Macs with Apple silicon. A phone app is in development, and Windows is planned.
- What’s included in founding-member pricing?
- The full editor, unlimited projects and exports, every new feature as it ships, and a direct line to the founding team. Keep $12/month for as long as you stay subscribed; launch pricing is $39/month. Requesting an invite needs no card or payment.
- What happens after I request an invite?
- You join the early-access list. We admit members in waves every couple of weeks, then email your download link and an invitation to a private onboarding session. Watch the inbox you signed up with.
